The De La Warr Pavilion is a Grade I listed Modernist arts centre on the seafront at Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, designed by architects Erich Mendelsohn and Serge Chermayeff and completed in 1935. Sometimes claimed to be Britain's first major Modernist public building, it exemplifies the International Style with its clean lines and forward-thinking aesthetic. After an extensive restoration, the pavilion reopened in 2005 as a contemporary arts centre, housing one of the largest galleries on the south coast of England. A bandstand added in the early twenty-first century was destroyed by high winds during Storm Eunice in 2022.
