The Dmitrievskaya Tower is the principal tower on the southern wall of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, overlooking Minin and Pozharsky Square. Built in 1509, this 33-meter structure stands as a federal cultural heritage site in Russia. The tower bears the name of either Dmitry of Suzdal, a powerful prince of the region, or a nearby church dedicated to Saint Demetrius of Thessaloniki, depending on historical accounts. Originally constructed as a defensive fortification, it has been preserved as an architectural landmark and museum, representing Russian military engineering of the early sixteenth century.
