This historic limestone residence in Jefferson City, Missouri, began as a square two-story structure built between 1827 and 1842, later gaining its distinctive Second Empire character when a mansard roof was added between 1885 and 1888. The house features a partial walkout basement on the front facade, bracketed cornice details, and an iron balcony positioned between the basement and first floor. Originally known as the William Porth House, the building was converted into a restaurant called the Colonial Tea Room during the 1930s before passing to the Jefferson City Housing Authority in 1970. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.
