In Ahlat stands the Emir Bayındır Tomb, a Ottoman-era sepulchral monument commissioned by Şah Selime Hatun following her husband Emir Bayındır bin Rüstem's death in late 1481. The bey of the Aq Qoyunlu dynasty was interred alongside their son Muhammad, who died in 1488 or 1489. Originally part of a larger complex encompassing a mosque and zawiya, the mausoleum—also called the Parmaklıklı Tomb—was possibly designed by Baba Can, the known architect of the complex's mosque, though his involvement remains unconfirmed. The structure's architect otherwise remains unknown.
