The Eureka Theater is an Art Moderne cinema completed in 1939 in Eureka, California, designed by San Francisco architect William B. David, a former Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Art Department designer. Built by theater magnate George M. Mann as part of a scaled-down development project originally conceived in 1937, the building was celebrated as an ultra-modern moviehouse upon completion and embodied local optimism as the region emerged from the Great Depression. The theater operated as a cinema until August 1, 1996, and has since been restored and repurposed as a rental venue for performances and events. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
