Opened on January 20, 1931, in San Pedro, the Warner Grand Theatre is a historic movie palace designed by architect B. Marcus Priteca in collaboration with interior designer Anthony Heinsbergen. The building exemplifies the Art Deco–Moderne style and was one of three lavishly appointed Los Angeles-area theaters that Priteca and Heinsbergen created for Warner Bros. in the early 1930s, alongside venues in Beverly Hills and Huntington Park. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the theater has been managed by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs since its purchase in 1996.
