The First National Bank Building of Vermillion, located at 1 East Main Street in Vermillion, South Dakota, is a historic structure with a complex architectural evolution. Originally constructed in 1893 of granite in the Romanesque Revival style following an 1892 fire, the building served as the headquarters of Vermillion's first chartered bank, founded by Darwin H. Inman in 1891. By 1925, under president Myron Thompson, it had become Clay County's largest financial institution. A major remodel in February 1930 transformed the exterior into Classical Revival style, extending the facade to include an adjacent building and adding four stone pilasters that divide the exterior into five parts with large rectangular windows, modillion blocks, stone quoins, and geometric detailing. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 and later housed RED Steakhouse from 2010 to 2020.
