The Garrick Theater, designed by the renowned Chicago firm Adler & Sullivan and completed in 1891, was a landmark theater building that stood among the city's tallest structures at the time of its construction. Originally built for the German Opera Company, its 1,300-seat theater is regarded by architectural historians as one of the finest collaborations between partners Louis Sullivan and Dankmar Adler. The building was demolished in 1961.
