Gehry Tower is a nine-story office building completed in 2001 at Steintor, Goethestraße 13a, in Hanover, Germany. Designed by Frank Gehry for the city-owned transport company üstra, the structure comprises a ferroconcrete core clad in stainless steel and is distinguished by a pronounced twist in its outer façade—a formal innovation that maximizes utility on the building's compact site. The tower exemplifies Gehry's embrace of cutting-edge design technology: his office created a 1:100 physical model, scanned it into CAD software, and used the resulting digital model to calculate the dimensions of each individually shaped component. Construction began in 1999 and cost 8.5 million Deutsche Mark before the building's official opening on 28 June 2001.
