Neuer Zollhof, completed in 1998 in Düsseldorf's revitalized harbor district, is a three-building architectural ensemble designed by Frank Gehry that has become a prominent landmark of the city. Named after a former customs facility, the complex exemplifies deconstructivism through its dramatically curved and leaning forms, earning comparison to tilting towers. The tallest structure rises 14 stories and nearly 50 meters. Each building distinguishes itself through different cladding: the outer pair clad in white plaster and red brick, while the central structure's reflective stainless steel facade mirrors the materials and forms of its neighbors. Totaling 29,000 square meters of gross floor space, the ensemble attracts tourists and stands as a transformative icon of Düsseldorf-Hafen, succeeding an earlier unrealized competition design by architect Zaha Hadid.
