The Great Palace Mosaic Museum, situated near Sultanahmet Square in Istanbul's Fatih district at the Arasta Bazaar, opened in 1953 to display Byzantine mosaics excavated from the site of the Great Palace of Constantinople. The museum's architecture reflects the Byzantine style of the artifacts it preserves, housing an important collection of decorative mosaics that once adorned the imperial palace.
