Standing 44 metres tall on the small islet of Bratthårskollen in the Grip archipelago off Kristiansund, Norway, the Grip Lighthouse was constructed between 1885 and 1888 from cast iron and granite. Built to guide vessels through this challenging coastal region in Møre og Romsdal county, the structure rises dramatically from its modest 7-metre-high rocky foundation. Now designated a cultural property, the lighthouse represents a significant example of late-19th-century Norwegian maritime engineering.
