Lista Lighthouse stands on the southwestern tip of Norway's mainland, perched on a cape overlooking Listafjorden in Farsund Municipality. Built in 1836 and rebuilt in 1853, this unpainted granite tower rises 34 metres and was among the first lighthouses to enhance coastal navigation in the region. Its powerful light—1,026,000 candelas—flashes white every four seconds and projects up to 17.5 nautical miles across open water. Originally staffed, the station operated a foghorn from 1877 to 1987 and transmitted a racon signal from 1937. Automated in 2003, the lighthouse and its site were transferred to Vest-Agder county and have since been repurposed as a museum, drawing visitors during summer months while continuing to aid maritime safety.
