The Hendren Building, a 1946 commercial structure in Albuquerque's Nob Hill neighborhood, stands as one of the city's finest examples of Streamline Moderne design. Designed by architect T. Charles Gaastra in what would prove to be one of his final commissions, the building exemplifies the automobile-oriented commercial development that flourished in the immediate post-war era. Its sleek, modernist aesthetic reflects the period's optimism and technological confidence. Recognized for its architectural significance, the building was added to the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties in 1999 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
