The Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden is a German opera house and theatre located in the Mitte district of Wiesbaden, Hesse. Designed by the renowned architects Fellner & Helmer and completed in 1894, the building exemplifies the Historicist style that dominated late 19th-century theatre architecture. The institution operates across four stages and maintains a resident orchestra, the Hessisches Staatsorchester, while producing operas, plays, ballets, musicals, and concerts. The theatre gained further cultural prominence as the host of the Internationale Maifestspiele Wiesbaden, an annual festival established in 1896 in the wake of the Bayreuth Festival's success.
