The Hohberger Building, constructed in 1895 in the East Village of Des Moines, Iowa, stands as one of the city's rare surviving examples of cast-iron column architecture. Designed in the Victorian style, the structure originally housed Dockstader & Co., a dry goods store, from 1899 to 1915. After a period of vacancy, the building underwent renovation in 1999, preserving its historic character while adapting to contemporary use: the ground floor operates as retail space, while offices occupy the upper levels. Listed individually on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, the building was later designated as a contributing property within the East Des Moines Commercial Historic District in 2019.
