The Youngerman Block is a three-story commercial building in downtown Des Moines, Iowa, designed by architect William Foster and completed in 1876 for merchant Conrad Youngerman. Built in the Italianate style characteristic of the era, the structure later received Art Deco detailing through subsequent alterations, creating a layered architectural palimpsest that reflects both its original Victorian commercial aesthetic and twentieth-century modernization. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
