The Hohe Weg Lighthouse, built in 1856 and located 25 kilometers northwest of Bremerhaven in Lower Saxony, stands as the oldest fixed offshore lighthouse of the Weser estuary in the Wadden Sea. Constructed of brick and rising 36 meters high, this structure was designed to guide maritime traffic through the German Bight and has remained in operation since its inception. Today it holds the status of a cultural heritage monument in Lower Saxony, representing an important example of nineteenth-century lighthouse engineering in northern Germany's coastal waters.
