In Hood River, Oregon, the Hood River County Library stands as a 1913–14 Jacobethan structure designed by the architectural firm Sutton & Whitney, erected with the support of a local woman's club and funded by a $17,500 Carnegie grant. The library shares its site with Georgiana Smith Park, which was developed later and completed in 1935 as a community amenity. Together, the library and park form a historic civic ensemble recognized on the National Register of Historic Places since 1998.
