The Middleport Public Library is a historic Carnegie library in Middleport, Ohio, completed in 1912 and built with funding from Andrew Carnegie's Carnegie Corporation. Constructed of brick with a tiled roof by Athens contractor Charles Kirchner, the building displays Georgian Revival details that make it the village's most distinctive public structure, including a pediment above the portico, quoins, and dentils beneath the pediment and cornice. The library originated when local residents established Middleport's first public library in 1908 in a second-floor commercial space; unsatisfied with this arrangement, the board approached Carnegie's foundation one year later and secured construction funds. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in January 1986 for both its architectural significance and its role in early twentieth-century community life as an exemplar of small-town Carnegie libraries, it now operates as a branch of the Meigs County District Public Library system.
