Rising 458 meters in Chongqing, the International Commerce Center 1 is a 98-story mixed-use skyscraper designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and the tallest building in the city. Conceived as the centerpiece of the Chongqing Tian Di Master Plan—a 3.6 million-square-meter downtown redevelopment—the tower's design draws inspiration from the sailing ships that historically navigated the nearby Yangtze and Jialing Rivers. Part of an 11-tower complex, this soaring structure ranks among China's tallest buildings and represents a contemporary approach to urban regeneration rooted in local maritime heritage.
