The J.H. Riekenberg House is a 2½-story Queen Anne residence built in 1898 in Boone, Iowa, for J.H. Riekenberg, a German-born businessman and civic leader who emigrated to the United States in 1867. Designed by local architect Charles E. Edwins and constructed by contractor J.J. Thoren, the frame house exemplifies the Queen Anne style with its asymmetrical plan, steeply pitched roof, wrap-around front porch, varied wall surface textures, and distinctive octagonal corner tower. Palladian elements enliven the gable ends. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.
