The Vogt House, a two-story brick structure in Iowa City, Iowa, exemplifies vernacular Queen Anne architecture with its asymmetrical plan, high-pitched hipped roof, and varied roof forms—including gabled, round, and polygonal bays topped with a conical-roofed pavilion. The most distinctive feature is its expansive wrap-around porch with latticework detailing and a round pavilion with finial on the southwest corner. The property includes two outbuildings: a frame carriage house and a woodshed. The house gained literary significance as the residence of author Kurt Vonnegut from 1965 to 1967. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, it was later designated a contributing property in the Brown Street Historic District in 1994.
