Jakarta Kota Station, located in the historic Kota Tua district of West Jakarta, is a major railway terminus designed in the Art Deco style by the architectural firm Algemeen Ingenieurs- en Architectenbureau (AIA) under Frans Johan Louwrens Ghijsels. Built in 1887, the station originally served as Batavia Zuid (South Batavia) and was colloquially known as Beos Station, after its former owner, the Bataviasche Oosterspoorweg Maatschapij. Today it functions as one of Jakarta's primary commuter rail hubs, serving two of the five Greater Jakarta commuter rail lines.
