The Jameh Mosque of Gorgan, a Shi'ite Friday mosque in the Nalbandan neighborhood of Gorgan in Iran's Golestan province, was constructed in 1018 CE during the Seljuk era and stands adjacent to the old bazaar. Built of brick, tile, and mortar, the mosque reflects the architectural traditions of the Seljuk, Timurid, Safavid, and Afsharid periods through extensive renovations undertaken over centuries. Recognized as an Iranian National Heritage property since 1932, the mosque underwent ongoing restoration efforts, with significant funding allocated in 2023 to complete conservation work.
