The Jesse R. Zeigler House in Frankfort, Kentucky, is the only residence designed by Frank Lloyd Wright to be constructed in the state during his lifetime. Built in 1910, it exemplifies Wright's "A Fireproof House for $5000" design scheme and showcases his characteristic Prairie School style. The commission arose from a serendipitous encounter between the Reverend Jesse R. Zeigler and Wright while both traveled to Europe in late October 1909, a conversation that led directly to this structure. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, the house remains privately owned and is not open to the public.
