Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and completed in 1908, the Dr. G.C. Stockman House in Mason City, Iowa exemplifies the Prairie School architectural movement. Built for Dr. George C. and Eleanor Stockman, this single-family home was originally conceived as part of Wright's "A Fireproof House for $5000" initiative. Relocated from its original site at 311 1st St. SE to 530 1st St. NE to prevent demolition, the house has been meticulously restored and now operates as a public museum. The residence showcases period-appropriate furnishings and reproductions, offering visitors insight into early twentieth-century domestic design. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
