Located at the southeast corner of Main Street and Fifth Avenue in Hillsboro, New Mexico, the John M. Webster House is a one-story adobe dwelling built in 1893 that exemplifies Late Victorian Vernacular architecture. Constructed from locally available adobe materials, the house demonstrates how imported Victorian architectural styles were adapted to regional building traditions. Its characteristic features include front and cross gables that form an original T-shaped plan, a front bay window, a side porch, and a side-front entrance—all typical Victorian elements realized in the vernacular building practices of the era. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995, the house is valued for its architectural significance as a meaningful integration of Victorian design principles with local New Mexico construction methods.
