Located at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles, Johnie's Coffee Shop is a celebrated example of Googie architecture, the futuristic aesthetic that defined Space Age design in mid-twentieth-century America. Designed by architects Louis Armét and Eldon Davis of Armét & Davis, the building exemplifies their pioneering work in coffee shop design—a reputation established through their creation of other iconic establishments including Pann's coffee shop in Ladera Heights, Norms Restaurant on La Cienega Boulevard, and multiple Bob's Big Boy locations. The former coffee shop is now recognized as a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument.
