The Theme Building, an observation tower at Los Angeles International Airport designed by William Pereira and completed in 1961, exemplifies the Googie architectural style and Space Age design aesthetics of the mid-century modern movement. Influenced by "Populuxe" architecture, the structure became a landmark of its era and was designated a Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument in 1993, recognizing both its exterior and interior as historically and culturally significant.
