The José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum, Puerto Rico's largest multi-purpose indoor arena, opened in 2004 in San Juan's Milla de Oro financial district. Designed by Populous and managed by ASM Global, the venue holds 19,500 spectators, making it the largest indoor arena in the insular Caribbean and 37th globally. Known colloquially as the Choliseo—a portmanteau referencing comedian José Miguel Agrelot and his character Don Cholito—the arena has emerged as one of the world's highest-grossing venues, ranking 42nd internationally in 2023 revenue while attracting over 10 million spectators since opening. Conveniently situated 3 to 6 miles from Old San Juan, major resorts, and the airport, the facility is accessible via the Hato Rey Station of the Tren Urbano light rail system.
