Located at 3100 Massachusetts Avenue in Washington, D.C., the Kahlil Gibran Memorial Garden is a public garden nestled within the wooded ravine of Woodland-Normanstone Park. Designed by HOK and dedicated on May 24, 1991, by President George H. W. Bush, the memorial commemorates the Lebanese-American writer, poet, and visual artist. At its heart stands a bronze sculpture of Gibran by Gordon Kray, accompanied by a star-shaped fountain encircled by limestone benches engraved with the poet's own words. The garden was created through fundraising efforts organized by the Kahlil Gibran Centennial Foundation, established to mark the centennial of Gibran's birth in Bsharri.
