Franklin D. Roosevelt Four Freedoms Park is a four-acre memorial to the 32nd president located at the southernmost tip of Roosevelt Island in New York's East River. Designed by architect Louis Kahn in 1974, the park honors the Four Freedoms that Roosevelt articulated in his 1941 State of the Union address. Though conceived nearly four decades earlier, the park was not built until groundbreaking in 2010, with completion achieved in 2012.
