Located at 717 Water Street in Sauk City, Wisconsin, the Lachmund Family House is a two-story cream brick residence built circa 1878 and expanded around 1903. Its distinctive Queen Anne and Gothic Revival styling is accentuated by a wrap-around front porch and surrounded by a reproduction wrought iron fence. The cream brick, an unusual choice for residential construction in Sauk City at the time, was transported by river from the railway at Portage, making this house notably singular among its contemporaries in the area. Listed on both the Wisconsin State Register of Historic Places and the National Register of Historic Places, it holds local significance in Sauk City's social history.
