The LaSalle Hotel, a nine-story brick structure completed in 1921 in South Bend, Indiana, exemplifies the Commercial style of the Chicago School era with neoclassical detailing in terra cotta and a prominent overhanging cornice. Originally containing 223 hotel rooms, the building stood adjacent to the Hoffman Hotel and directly across from the former South Bend station of the Chicago South Shore and South Bend Railroad, to which it was connected by a tunnel. Recognized for its architectural and historical significance, the hotel was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.
