Lincoln Public Library, located at 3 Bedford Road in Lincoln, Massachusetts, is a Queen Anne style structure of reddish Longmeadow freestone designed by architect William G. Preston and completed in 1884 with funds donated by Boston businessman George Grosvenor Tarbell. The library's origins trace to the late eighteenth century, when Reverend Charles Stearns established a private subscription library, later enriched by Eliza Farrar's donation of her husband Professor John Farrar's collection. The building stands as a contributing property in the Lincoln Center Historic District, positioned across Bedford Road from the First Parish Church. Significant expansions were added in the 1950s and 1980s, and the library now participates in the Minuteman Library Network.
