Built around 1890 in Memphis, Tennessee, the Lowenstein House is a historic residence that blends Italianate and Queen Anne architectural styles. Constructed for Elias Lowenstein, a German-born merchant, the house served multiple purposes across its early decades: during World War I it functioned as a boarding house for women workers, and in the 1920s Lowenstein's daughter Celia donated it to The Nineteenth Century Club. Recognized for its architectural and historical significance, the house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
