The Lucas Troendle House is a three-story Queen Anne–style brick residence built in 1896 in Mapleton, Minnesota, for Lucas Troendle, an early merchant and landowner who became a leading community figure. With eight bedrooms and more than 5,000 square feet of living space, the substantial home exemplified the prosperity of those who invested in land and commercial ventures during the region's rail-town boom of the late nineteenth century. After Troendle's death in 1917, the house became the Holt Hotel. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 for its architectural and commercial significance, the property—also known as Solie's Castle—was sold at auction in August 2022.
