Mankin Mansion, also known as Brickworks or Irvin Place, stands in Virginia as a Georgian Revival residence built in 1924 by Edward Thurston Mankin, a brick manufacturer who designed the home as both residence and showpiece for his material. The mansion and its surrounding structures—including walls, benches, and grounds features—display ingenious brick detailing throughout. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993 along with five contributing buildings, one site, and two structures on the grounds, the mansion exemplifies Colonial Revival architecture adapted to the early twentieth century. Deterioration threatened the property until new owners purchased and renovated it in 2004, transforming it into a venue for weddings and events.
