Melwood Park is a historic Georgian home located near Upper Marlboro in Prince George's County, Maryland. Built as a two-and-a-half-story structure of Flemish bond brick with Georgian detailing, the house gained significance through its connections to early American history: George Washington visited on several occasions, and the British Army camped on the grounds during their march to Washington, D.C. in August 1814 during the War of 1812. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, the property was undergoing extensive restoration as of 2009.
