The Mier Wolf House, completed in 1909 in Mason City, Iowa, is an early Prairie School residence built for a prominent local furniture merchant. Though its architect remains unknown, the house demonstrates clear affinity with Frank Lloyd Wright's Mayan Period, featuring geometric wall decorations, truncated and stylized piers, and paired sculpted forms adorning the heavy fascia beneath its broad overhanging hip roof. These distinctive ornamental and structural elements mark it as a notable example of Prairie School design in its regional context. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
