The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, known as the Miraikan, is a technology museum in Tokyo's Odaiba district, designed by architects Kume Sekkei and Nikken Sekkei and opened in 2001. Created by Japan's Science and Technology Agency, the museum occupies a purpose-built structure in the waterfront development and is readily accessible via the Yurikamome, a driverless automated transit system that connects it to downtown Tokyo in approximately twenty minutes.
