The Mohammadi Mosque stands in the Habous quarter of Casablanca, a large structure built around 1935–1936 and sponsored by Sultan Mohammed V, whose name it bears. Executed in Moroccan and Moorish architectural styles, the mosque exemplifies the religious and dynastic patronage of the sultanate during the early twentieth century.
