Montevideo is a 43-storey residential skyscraper overlooking the Nieuwe Maas river in Rotterdam, designed by Francine Houben of the Mecanoo architecture firm and completed in 2005. Rising to 152.3 meters—including a distinctive 8-by-8-meter rooftop letter "M" that doubles as a wind vane—the tower exemplifies modern Dutch architecture. The building houses 192 apartments alongside office and retail spaces, accommodating a mixed-use urban function. Named after Uruguay's capital, Montevideo stands as one of the world's tallest structures designed by a woman architect.
