The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas, was designed by Louis I. Kahn and completed in 1972, housing the private art collection of Kay and Velma Kimbell along with traveling exhibitions, educational programs, and a research library. The building is widely recognized as one of the most significant architectural works of recent times, distinguished especially by its vaulted gallery ceilings that allow a wash of silvery natural light to illuminate the artwork within.
