Northwest Stadium is a multi-purpose sports venue designed by Populous, located near Landover, Maryland, approximately 2.5 miles east of Washington, D.C. The stadium opened in 1997 as Jack Kent Cooke Stadium and has served as the home of the Washington Commanders of the National Football League since its inception. Known as FedExField from 1999 to 2024, it once boasted the NFL's largest capacity at 91,000 seats between 2004 and 2010, though it currently holds 64,000. The facility is owned and operated by the Commanders, with non-NFL events managed by Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment. The stadium is scheduled for demolition following the Commanders' relocation to a new facility at the RFK Campus in Washington, D.C., expected to open in 2030.
