Oland Lighthouse, located on the small Hallig of Oland in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, is the country's smallest and only thatched-roof lighthouse. This brick structure, erected in 1929, stands just 7.4 metres tall and serves as a cross light for the Föhrer Ley and Dagebüll channels. Originally lit by liquified gas, it was electrified in 1954 and remains staffed by a keeper. The lighthouse emits a fixed light in white, red, and green sectors—red toward the north, green toward the west, and white between them or broadly toward Wyk on the island of Föhr. Its distinctive optic can be withdrawn from the lantern casing on a slide for maintenance.
