Located at 2920 Yale Boulevard SE in Albuquerque, the Old Albuquerque Municipal Airport Building exemplifies Pueblo Revival architecture through its two-story flat-roofed design, constructed in 1939 from adobe bricks and local materials under a Works Progress Administration labor program. Designed by City Architect Ernst H. Blumenthal, it served as the passenger terminal for Albuquerque Municipal Airport (now Albuquerque International Sunport) until a new facility opened in 1965, handling flights by Trans World Airlines, Continental Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and Pioneer Air Lines. After its aviation purpose concluded, the building housed the Albuquerque Museum's first location from 1967 to 1979. A comprehensive 2002 rehabilitation restored much of the structure to its 1940s appearance. Listed on both the National Register of Historic Places (1989) and the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties, it also bears the name of aviator William Cutter.
