Located in Marousi, Athens, the Olympic Athletic Center of Athens "Spiros Louis" is a sports complex designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. Originally built in 1982, the facility comprises five major venues alongside supplementary sports facilities. Before hosting the 2004 Summer Olympics as its main venue, the complex had already served as the site of the Mediterranean Games in 1991 and the World Championship in Athletics in 1997. Calatrava's design revamp prepared the complex for the 2004 Games, cementing its role as one of Athens's most significant athletic and cultural facilities.
