One Canada Square, designed by César Pelli and completed in 1991 on the Isle of Dogs in London's Canary Wharf district, stands 235 metres (770 feet) tall across 50 floors. Upon its completion, it became the United Kingdom's tallest building, a distinction it maintained for 21 years until The Shard's completion in 2012. Today it ranks as the nation's third-tallest structure.
